How to Prepare for a Permanent Makeup Appointment

General Information

• If you have a serious medical condition, please inform us before your appointment. • If you have any medical condition and are under doctor’s supervision you will have to get a letter from GP to prove that you are suitable for permanent makeup treatment. • You CANNOT BE PREGNANT or BREAST FEEDING. No exceptions. • Do not come to your apointment with a sunburn on the area that will be treated. If you do, we cannot treat you and you will forfeit your deposit. • Do not go tanning for several weeks before your appointment (no sprays too). • Avoid alcohol or caffeine prior to the procedure. This will mimimize any oozing and/ or swelling after the procedure. • If you use Botox, do not use for at least 8 weeks before or 8 weeks after the treatment. • Do not work out on the day of your treatment. • Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, fish oil and/or Ibuprofen unless medically necessary, 48-72 hours prior to your procedure. • Do not have facials or LED treatments 4 weeks prior to your procedure. • You must be off Retin-A or Retinols for 7 days prior to your appointment and avoid using on or around the area for 30 days after. If you resume the Retin-A or Retinols after the 30 days, please know that the continued use will fade your permanent makeup prematurely. • If there are any blemishes, pimples, active cold sores, irritation of the skin, we will not able to do the procedure until the blemish or area of concern is gone. • Please note that we have a very busy schedule. Please arrive on time as if you are more than 15 minutes late, your appointment may need to be rescheduled and you will be asked to pay another deposit. • Wear comfortable clothing. • Expect to be at the shop for a few hours. There is parking outside (pay by phone) or a local Sainsburys that offers free parking if you spend a minimum amount there. • You may experience extra sensitivity around your menstrual cycle. You may want to bear this in mind when booking your appointment.

Eyebrows

  • Do NOT dye or wax your eyebrows 1 week prior to your appointment. If you tweeze or thread your eyebrows, make sure you leave at least 4 days after the session for your treatment.

  • Feel free to wear eyebrow makeup to the appointment, but please limit eye makeup.

  • Stop using any Vitamin A, glycolic acids, exfoliation)on the brow area 2 weeks prior to your appointment.

Lips

  • If you want larger/ fuller lips and plan on getting fillers, do this at least 4 weeks before.

  • It is recommended to take anti-viral medication 3 days before and 3 days after the treatment to supress cold sores.

  • Gently exfoliate the lips each day for 7 days before the treatment. Apply a moisturising lip balm after doing so.

Eyeliner

  • Do not wear contact lenses during the treatment (and for 24 hours after).

  • Do not perm your eyelashes or dye them for at least 7 days before

  • Bring sunglasses to the appointment as your eyes may be sensitive to the light after.
